The first published video of the Hellenic Navy frigate “Hydra” patrolling in the Bab-el-Mandeb strait connecting the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden was released on Sunday by EUNAVFOR’s “Aspides” operations command.
A freighter sailing in the opposition direction is shown in the video, taken from atop the Greek warship’s deck.
The EU mission is comprised of warships and naval aviation from a handful of EU countries, established to protest shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden from attacks by the Yemen-based and Iranian-backed Houthi rebels.
