Authorities have announced two new digital platforms, one regarding driving licensesand the other the issuance of ID cards, aiming to simplify the process for citizens in their transactions with relevant public services.
Specifically, the governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias, announced the launch of a digital platform enabling all citizens to schedule their appointments for acquiring Greek driving licenses online.
All candidate drivers who wish to schedule their written and driving exams, as well as holders of a driving license interested in extending their licenses, can book appointments online without appearing in person before any office, as was previously the case.
Residents in any of the regional units of Attica prefecture as well as their authorized driving instructors, can access the new platform via their smartphone, tablet, or computer and select the day and time for their driving exams.
Additionally, a new platform id.gov.gr which aims to provide more immediate and efficient service to citizens for the issuance of new ID cards, is operational as of today.
Citizens can now easily and user-friendly schedule digital appointments for the issuance of the new type of ID card or its replacement due to changes in personal information, expiration, damage, or old age.
With the new modern platform, the number of appointments will increase, thereby reducing the waiting time for citizens’ requests to be fulfilled. The availability of digital appointments will begin tomorrow, Oct. 1.
