Today, on December 26, the public transportation services in Athens will operate according to Sunday and holiday schedules, marking the second day after Christmas.
Bus and trolley services will run on schedules similar to those on Sundays and holidays.
For the Athens Metro Lines 1, 2, and 3, there will be modifications:
Line 1 (formerly HSAP):
Tuesday, December 26, 2023: Trains will operate every 10.5 minutes from 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM and every 15 minutes at other times.
Wednesday, December 27, 2023, until Friday, December 29, 2023: Trains will run every 6 minutes from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, every 7.5 minutes at other times from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM, and every 11.5 to 15 minutes during the remaining hours.
Saturday, December 30, 2023: Trains will operate every 10.5 minutes from 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM and every 15 minutes at other times.
Sunday, December 31, 2023: Trains will operate every 10.5 minutes from 5:30 AM to 11:00 PM. Services will be discontinued around 11:00 PM.
Monday, January 1, 2024: Trains will operate every 10.5 minutes from 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM and every 15 minutes at other times.
Tuesday, January 2, 2024: Trains will operate every 7.5 minutes from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM and every 11.5 to 15 minutes at other times.
Wednesday, January 3, 2024, until Friday, January 5, 2024: Trains will run every 6 minutes from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, every 7.5 minutes at other times from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM, and every 11.5 to 15 minutes during the remaining hours.
Saturday, January 6, 2024, and Sunday, January 7, 2024: Trains will operate every 10.5 minutes.
Line 2 and Line 3 of the Athens Metro will also experience similar schedule adjustments on specific dates throughout this period.
Additionally, tram services will be modified as follows:
Tuesday, December 26, 2023: Trams will run every 12 minutes from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and every 15 minutes at other times.
Wednesday, December 27, 2023, until Saturday, December 30, 2023: Trams will operate every 12 minutes until 10:00 PM and every 15 minutes after 10:00 PM. Normal extensions of service hours will occur on Friday and Saturday nights.
Sunday, December 31, 2023: Trams will operate every 12 minutes until 10:00 PM, every 15 minutes between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM, with services ending around 11:00 PM.
Monday, January 1, 2024: Trams will operate every 15 minutes.
Tuesday, January 2, 2024, until Friday, January 5, 2024: Trams will run every 12 minutes until 10:00 PM and every 15 minutes between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM.
Saturday, January 6, 2024, and Sunday, January 7, 2024: Trams will run every 15 minutes.
The airport schedules will remain unchanged during most of these dates, except for New Year’s Eve, where services will conclude earlier than usual.
