The 28th Athens Cycling Tour will take place, this Sunday, Oct. 20. Due to the event, Athens Traffic Police will implement phased traffic restrictions on several key roads in the city center.
Specifically, there will be gradual road closures and parking bans on the following avenues, squares, and streets in the Municipality of Athens:

• From 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM:
-Stadiou Street, between Amerikis and Vasilissis Georgiou Avenue, including side streets up to the first      parallel road.
-Syntagma Square.
-Filellinon Street, including side streets up to the first parallel road.
-Vasilissis Georgiou Avenue, including side streets up to the first parallel road.

• From 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM:
-Vasilissis Amalias Avenue, including both traffic directions and side streets up to the first parallel road.
-Syngrou Avenue, from Athanasiou Diakou Street to Dionysiou Areopagitou Street, including side         streets and the traffic lane toward Amalias Avenue. Also, from Dionysiou Areopagitou Street to   Vourvachi Street in the direction toward Poseidonos Avenue.
-Vasilissis Olgas Avenue.
-Various other streets, including Athanasiou Diakou, Vourvachi, Hatzichristou, Veikou, Garibaldi,       Ermou, and sections of Peiraios (Piraeus), Patission, and Panepistimiou Streets, among others.

In addition, vehicles will be prohibited from crossing the cycling route, except at the controlled junction of Vasilissis Sofias Avenue and Rigillis Street.

The Traffic Police urge drivers to avoid these roads during the indicated hours to minimize congestion, and to follow the instructions of traffic officers.
