Three Injured in Shooting in Central Athens

The three men aged 33, 28 and 24 were attending a bachelor party in a night club in the Gazi area

Three people have been injured and hospitalized after a shooting took place Saturday outside a club in the center of Athens, police have reported.

According to local media, shortly after 6am, there was a dispute between two passengers in a black SUV car and three other men residents of the club.

The two men fired at least seven shots at close range for reasons unknown, injuring the three men aged 33,28 and 24, who are from Crete.

Speaking on Mega TV, a relative of the three men said that they were eating when a jeep drove by and splashed them with water. The three mean reacted, resulting in the shooting and their serious injury.

One of the men is reported to be in a serious condition.

It was stated that the three men were attending a bachelor party at a club in the Gazi area, outside which the shooting took place.

A police investigation is currently underway to determine the identity of the perpetrators, while all possible scenarios are being examined in search of a motive for the attack.
