Celebrations took place across the world to welcome the beginning of the New Year

Dazzling fireworks light up the Athenian sky as the clock strikes midnight Sunday.

The Greek capital celebrated the arrival of the New Year with music and fireworks over the ancient Acropolis. Thousands gathered in Syntagma square to welcome the coming of 2024.

In Berlin, crowds gathered at the Brandenburg Gate to celebrate as fireworks lit up the night sky. Parisians celebrated near the Arc de Triomphe, with acrobats performing ahead of the firework display.

Londoners welcomed the New Year around the London Eye on the Thames. Around 12,000 fireworks and 430 lights filled the sky over the English capital, while 600 drones put on a spectacular show, displaying images in the sky.

In Brazil, crowds celebrated on a packed Copacabana beach with samba and live performances by local bands.

Thousands gathered in New York’s Times Square to watch the traditional ball drop as the clock struck twelve. Fireworks and confetti adorned the sky, with live performances staged by several artists.

Over a million people flooded the harbor area in Sydney Australia and enjoyed a spectacular firework show against the backdrop of the iconic Opera House, which turned 50 last October.

Fireworks also lit up the skies of Auckland, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Manila.
