Weather Greece – The unsettled weather will continue on Wednesday as Greece goes through its first autumn cold front. Rainfall will periodically affect the mainland and the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean. More widespread rain is expected across all of western Greece, with locally strong thunderstorms in the Ionian Islands, Epirus, western Sterea, and the western Peloponnese, which will persist into the night. A little snow is forecast at high altitudes in Epirus and western Thessaly.
In the rest of the country, including central and eastern Aegean, the day will be cloudy with light, scattered showers until the afternoon. No rain is expected in Crete.
Temperatures will rise slightly but will remain low in northern Greece, with midday highs of 10–13 degrees Celsius locally reaching 15 degrees near coastal areas. In the rest of the mainland, temps will reach 18–20 degrees, and up to 26 degrees in Crete.
Winds in the Ionian Sea will blow from the south at 4–6 Beaufort. In the Aegean, winds will blow from the east-northeast at 3–5 Beaufort, temporarily reaching 6 in the northern Aegean, and shifting to southeasterly overnight.
In Attica, dense clouds will hover over the region at times, with light local showers anticipated. Heavier rain is expected early morning on Thursday. Temperatures will range from 13 to 20 degrees, with easterly winds will blow at 3–4 Beaufort.
In Thessaloniki, light local showers are expected throughout the day and night. Temperatures will range from 9 to 13 degrees and northerly winds will blow at 3–4 Beaufort.
