Temps up in Greece on Wed; African Dust, Mud Rain in the South

Tuesday might have broken the cold front’s streak, but Wednesday brings new unsettled weather and rising temperatures. Rain is expected in many parts of the country, with muddy rain in southern regions due to African dust crossing the Mediterranean.

Clouds will hover and moderate rainfall is expected across western Greece, Thrace, and the eastern Aegean. Light, localized rain is expected in the Cyclades and Crete, but rainfall will intensify in the west during the evening, with storms forecast for the northern Ionian and Epirus. Elsewhere, intermittent cloudiness is anticipated.

Temperatures will rise, with daily highs will be 4–5 degrees higher than the average for November. Daily max will reach 17–20 degrees Celsius in the north, 19–21 degrees in the west, 22 degrees in the eastern mainland, and up to 22 degrees in the Aegean.

Winds will blow from the southwest, reaching strong levels of 5–7 Beaufort in the Ionian and Aegean seas.

Sunny and clear weather is expected in Attica, with some cloudiness towards the evening. Temperatures will range between 13–21 degrees, with southwest winds in surrounding coastal areas blowing at 3–5 Beaufort.

In Thessaloniki will be at times quite cloudy. Temperatures will range from 10 to 19 degrees, with light winds blowing at 2–3 Beaufort, shifting to southerly in the afternoon.
