A rally is scheduled for 12:00 PM on Friday, February 7, outside the Academy of Athens in Greece, where students, university students, and educators will demand accountability for the Tempi train tragedy.

As a precaution, metro stations at Syntagma and Panepistimio will be closed from 11:00 AM.

The protesters are calling for justice, improved public transport infrastructure, and better facilities in educational institutions. Demonstrations will take place in central Athens and at least 30 major cities across Greece- a large turnout is expected.

To facilitate the participation of educators, a work stoppage from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM has been announced.

Athens’ Metro Stations at Syntagma and Panepistimio to Close

Greek Police (EL.AS.) have ordered the closure of Syntagma and Panepistimio metro stations ahead of the planned student and university student protest for Tempi at 12:00 PM.

According to EL.AS., the two metro stations will close at 11:00 AM, and trains will pass through without stopping.
