Upon inspecting the envelope, police determined it did not contain any dangerous material, and the incident ended.
Greek police have rushed to the Ministry of Education building in Athens after a suspicious envelope was found on Wednesday evening.
According to initial reports, the paper envelope was detected inside the building on Andrea Papandreou Street, in Marousi, a suburb in the northern part of Athens, by employees during a routine check.
The package was immediately taken outside the premises and the special Explosive Devices Disposal unit has been dispatched to the scene.
Additionally, a fire engine also arrived at the scene as a precautionary measure. All employees were instructed to evacuate the building.
