Suspicious Bag Sparks Alert Outside EFKA Offices in Kypseli

Upon closer inspection, it was found that apart from a small gas canister, the bag also contained two bottles of flammable liquid, two fire starters, fuses, and matches

Greek authorities were placed on high alert following the discovery of a suspicious bag outside the National Social Security Entity (EFKA) offices in the central Athens suburb of Kypseli on Wednesday. The incident prompted an immediate response from emergency teams.

According to initial reports, the bag, which was discovered earlier this morning on Kefallinias Street, appeared to contain wires and a small gas canister.

Upon closer inspection, the bag also contained two bottles of flammable liquid, two fire starters, fuses, and matches.

Specialized bomb disposal units and police forces were dispatched to the scene, sealing off the area to conduct thorough investigations. Due to the checks, the police temporarily suspended vehicle traffic on Kefallinias Street, from its intersection with Kypseli Street.

However, traffic was restored shortly after 10 am.
