A 39-year-old suspect wanted on charges of shooting three men in the Gazi nightclub district in central Athens last December surrendered on Sunday afternoon to police.
The suspect, an Albanian national, turned himself in at the organized crime headquarters.
He allegedly shot three men, who were visiting Athens from Crete, in the early morning of Dec. 16, 2024, seriously injuring two of the three, and after an initial street altercation turned violent.
Another man, 33, a compatriot of the suspect with a previous criminal record, was arrested and remains jailed to this day on charges of complicity in three counts of attempted homicide.
A massive manhunt commenced at the time, including the issuance of an international arrest warrant in case the man clandestinely fled back to his native Albania.
