The Athens Police Department will be implementing special traffic arrangements on the roads and avenues within the Municipality of Athens today, Sunday, in light of the student parade commemorating the National Anniversary of March 25, 1821.
Temporary and gradual suspension of vehicle traffic will be in effect from 10:00 until the conclusion of the events, as well as a prohibition on parking and stopping vehicles from 06:00 until the end of the events on the following roads and avenues:
• Vasilissis Amalias Avenue, along its entire length and in both traffic lanes, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel road.
• Vasilissis Sofias Avenue, in the section between Sekeri Street and Vasilissis Amalias Avenue, in the traffic lane towards Syntagma Square.
• Vasileos Georgiou A’ Avenue, along its entire length.
• Eleftheriou Venizelou (Panepistimiou) Avenue, along its entire length and on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel road.
• Vasilissis Olgas Avenue, along its entire length and in both traffic lanes.
• Syngrou Avenue, in the section between Ath. Diakou Street and Dionysiou Areopagitou Street, in the traffic lane towards Syntagma Square.
As noted by the Hellenic Police, student parades are also scheduled to take place in municipalities across the broader Athens region on Monday, March 25.
During these events, the Traffic Police will implement essential traffic measures.
Additionally, the Police advise drivers to ensure smoother traffic flow and prevent further congestion by refraining from driving through or parking their vehicles on the specified roads and avenues during the designated time slots.
