The new opening hours of stores in Greece, in observation of the Greek Orthodox Easter holiday period, start today April 25.
Commenting on retail traffic for the period, the President of the Athens Chamber of Commerce told AMNA that shops have been struggling since the end of 2023 so he hopes that the Easter holiday period will boost turnover and overall consumer traffic at shops.
The Assocation previously announced that stores in Athens will be open nonstop from 9am to 9pm from Thursday April 25 to Saturday April 27, and from 11am – 4pm this Sunday April 28.
Meanwhile, during Holy Week, which starts Monday April 29, shops will be open from 9am to 9pm. On May 3, which is also Good Friday, hours will be modified to 1pm to 7pm.
Holy Saturday, which falls on May 4, will see stores open from 9am to 3 pm, and then all shops will remain closed from Sunday May 5 until and including May 7.
