Α shooting in Athens was reported, with one suspect firing into the air with a handgun in broad daylight on Monday afternoon at a busy Athens-area bus station.

According to reports, a trio of men assaulted another man directly outside the inter-city bus (KTEL) terminal along the Kifissos highway in west-central Athens. One of the four then pulled out the gun and fired at least twice in the air, given that police later discovered two used shell casings.

According to reports by in.gr, the incident involved four men identified as Roma (gypsies) for as yet undetermined reasons. The victim of the beating was taken to a nearby hospital, with authorities now attempting to identify the culprits.

A massive police response and manhunt followed the Athens shooting incident. The Kifissos bus station is one of the busiest in the greater Athens-Piraeus area.
