One man was killed and another was seriously injured on Friday afternoon inside a super market near the Zea Marina in the heart of the port city of Piraeus.

One of the two alleged gunmen involved in the shootings was reportedly arrested shortly thereafter by police, while a weapon was recovered.

Media reports have all four of the men – the two victims and two suspects – as being Kurds, without further information as to which nationality they hold.

The two victims were in the super market, when at least two gunmen entered.

A heavy police presence cordoned off the specific area, which is also a popular tourist attraction.
