The reduced electricity rates in Greece will be effective across Greece as of Friday, November 1, for the winter period of 2024-2025.
Greece’s electricity grid operator (HEDNO) reminds customers who are on a time-of-use tariff (reduced night rate) with a split-hour schedule that it will be effective from Nov. 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025, for the following hours:
2:00 am-8:00 am and 3:00 pm-5:00 pm for customers connected to the mainland and interconnected islands.
2:00 am–8:00 am and 3:30 pm–5:30 pm for customers on non-interconnected islands.
For those consumers who wish to receive further information on the matter, they are urged to contact their electricity provider.
For customers with a continuous time-of-use night rate schedule, the existing hours of 11:00 pm to 7:00 am remain in place.
It should be noted that the continuous schedule from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. will no longer be available to new consumers and will remain in effect only for customers who already use it.
Consumers using the continuous schedule may switch to the split-hour schedule if they wish, but they will not be able to revert to the continuous schedule afterward.
Meanwhile, the new November tariffs on electricity rates in Greece will be announced on Saturday, with the prices expected to drop.
The electricity provider Protergia has already announced a reduction in its green tariff to 14.9 cents, with other companies expected to follow suit.
It should further be noted that Greece’s biggest public power company PPC had set the green tariff at 14.9 cents for October.
