Τhe weather in Greece on Thursday will remain unsettled with rain across the country at varying intensity depending on the region.
Intermittent thunderstorms will occur in the Ionian and throughout western mainland Greece, with conditions improving by the evening. Moderate rain is expected in the eastern and northern mainland, with occasional thunderstorms.
Rainfall is also forecasted for the Aegean islands, with thunderstorms gradually affecting the northern and eastern Aegean, the Cyclades, and by evening, the Dodecanese. Light snowfall is forecast in the northern mountainous regions, but only at high altitudes.
Midday temperatures will reach 13–14 degrees Celsius in northern Greece and up to 17 degrees in coastal areas, 18–21 in the rest of Greece and the highest of 25 degrees in Crete.
In Attica, thunderstorms are expected to arrive in the morning, bringing heavier rain to the western and southern parts of the region and coastal areas, while central Athens will experience lighter showers. The weather will improve come the afternoon. Temperatures will range from 14 to 21 degrees with southeast winds at 3–4 Beaufort.
In Thessaloniki, increased cloudiness and light to moderate rainfall are expected throughout the day. Temperatures will range from 10–14 degrees, with winds blowing from the north to east at 3–5 Beaufort.
Meteorologists warn that the bout of bad weather will continue through most of the weekend, with the most challenging day for Attica being Saturday.
