Probe Launched Into Ministry Laptop Theft

Thieves broke into the Greek labor and social cohesion ministries, located in central Athens, and made away with dozens of laptops

Police are investigating a theft that took place at a ministry building in central Athens this week, with burglars stealing stealing dozens of laptops.

The shocking incident, which was reported earlier this week, took place in central Athens, off Klafthmonos Square, in a public building which houses two ministries, namely, labor and social insurances and social cohesion and family.

According to Greek Police (EL.AS) information, the assailants broke into the IT department of the labor ministry on the fifth floor of the building before heading to the seventh floor, where they removed the computers.

Mega Channel news reported that CCTV footage on the sixth floor has captured images of two burglars, who were wearing gloves and masks, in action. The incident has, as expected, raised serious security concerns.
