Are you experiencing a power outage in Attica? You’re not alone. Frequent power disruptions are becoming a regular occurrence due to ongoing upgrades to the electrical grid by the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network (HENDO).
HENDO is responsible for the operation, maintenance and development of the power distribution network in Greece and has announced a range of disruptions in the supply of electricity spanning the greater Athens area.
While these scheduled upgrades are crucial for a more stable and efficient power supply in the future and make sense to do while many Athenians leave the city for holidays, they can be frustrating in the short-term for those left behind in the heat.
Today, daylong power outages are scheduled for Ano Liosia, Palaio Faliro, Glyfada, Tavros, Pallini, Glyfada, Elliniko, Athinaion and Nea Smyrni.
These ugrades can be added to the list of another 31 scheduled power outages in the greater Athens region since Tuesday.
According to HENDO’s website, 51% of its hare capital is owned by PPC SA and 49% by Macquaire Asset Mangement.
