Following the tragic amusement park death of a 19-year-old man who was killed when his cabin detached from a ride at an amusement park in Halkidiki last week, a related case emerged on Friday, this time regarding a similar operation in the central city of Larissa.
As reported, the case regards the owner of the amusement park, who won a bid to operate the business at the annual fair in Neapolis Larissa this September despite having previously been convicted for the injury of a 9-year-old girl in the south-central city of Halkida and also facing charges related to the death of one more 13-year-old girl in 2019 at an amusement park in Magnesia prefecture (Volos area).
However, as reported, the tender issued to the woman by the municipality of Larissa had a specific condition that forbade the participation to applicants who had been convicted for any crimes related to their professional activities.
Given that the businesswoman was irrevocably sentenced to two years in prison with a three-year suspension for the 2009 injury case, she was ineligible to participate in the tender according to the stated conditions.
Furthermore, the same businesswoman is also facing trial for a felony in connection with the death of the 13-year-old at the Almyros park.
