Sunday will bring unsettled weather across western, northern, and eastern Aegean regions, with varying intensities depending on the location.

Moderate rainfall is expected in the Ionian Sea and the western mainland, with brief thunderstorms likely in Achaia and Ilia, but these phenomena will weaken by midday. In the eastern Aegean, however, rains will intensify towards noon, spreading to the Cyclades and Dodecanese. Rain is also anticipated intermittently in Macedonia, Thrace, and the rest of the Aegean islands, with light snow expected over the northern mountainous areas.

Temperatures will see a slight increase, peaking at 12–15°C in the north, 17–19°C in other mainland regions, and up to 20°C in southern Aegean locales.

Winds in the Ionian will blow from the west-northwest at 4–5 Beaufort, while in the Aegean, southwesterly winds will shift to northwesterly by midday, reaching 6–7 Beaufort.

Athens will be partly cloudy with a chance of light rain during the evening. Temperatures will range from 13–18°C, with southwesterly winds at 4–6 Beaufort, turning northwesterly up to 5 Beaufort by midday.

Overcast skies will dominate in Thessaloniki, with temperatures ranging from 8–14°C. Winds will start variable and light but shift to northerly at 4–6 Beaufort later in the day.

The Week Ahead

The new week will begin with a sharp temperature drop on Monday. Local rains are expected in the western coastal areas, eastern mainland, and thunderstorms over the Aegean. From midday onward, weather will gradually improve from north to south, leaving only Crete with rainfall by nightfall.

Light snow may fall in the mainland Greece, Evia, and Crete at high altitudes. The cold will be pronounced, with daytime highs reaching 11–12°C in northern and eastern mainland areas, 14–16°C in the west and south. Winds will remain strong, particularly in the Aegean, where northerlies may reach 7–8 Beaufort.

By Tuesday, sunny skies will prevail, with temperatures climbing to 15–17°C during the day. However, expect frosty mornings, and winds will weaken to 5–6 Beaufort, calming further by midday.
