Open House Athens’ main event, opening up 70 building across Athens to public viewing, has officially kicked off Saturday and will run through Sunday.
The primary objective of Open House Athens is to promote architecture and culture by granting free access to both private and public buildings, allowing visitors to delve into the city’s rich architectural heritage.
If you’re planning your visit, here are some must-see locations:
1. Kaizen Campus – A Bold Vision of the Future

Friday, April 5: 12:00–17:00
Saturday, April 6: 12:00–17:00

Completed in 2023, the Kaizen Campus is a showcase of innovation and sustainability. It’s a sleek testament to what modern workplace architecture can be—green, intelligent, and forward-thinking. Make sure to bring ID for entry.

Location: Kerameikos
Opening Hours:
Friday, April 5: 13:00–18:00
Saturday, April 6: 13:00–18:00
Once a gritty industrial space, the 10AM Lofts have been reimagined into an artistic residential and working hub by Gavalas Ioannidou Architecture and Studio Andrew Trotter. The transformation, completed over five years, is a masterclass in minimal, raw aesthetics. This year’s event includes access to a new addition—10AM Apotheke, an evocative basement space that’s never been opened to the public before.
3. Cavafy Archive – Poetry in Place
Location: Central Athens
A quiet treasure in the city center, this early 20th-century building (built in 1910) now houses the Cavafy Archive, dedicated to the life and work of the beloved poet C.P. Cavafy. Painstakingly restored and expanded, the archive includes original manuscripts, furniture, and personal items, curated amidst contemporary artworks by the Onassis Foundation. The architectural intervention by Flux-office (Eva Manidaki and Thanassis Demiris) blends old and new with poetic sensitivity.

One of Athens’ most iconic neoclassical buildings, the Zappeion Mansion is a must-see for lovers of classical architecture. Built in 1888 by the Danish architect Theophil Hansen, it has hosted everything from diplomatic meetings to Olympic events. With its grand colonnades and historical gravitas, it remains a symbol of Greece’s modern nationhood and European connection.
