In 2005, Charles, prince of Wales, marries Camilla Parker Bowles.
King Charles and
Camilla Parker Bowles had an extramarital affair while Charles was still married to Princess Diana. Their relationship reportedly began before Charles’ marriage to Princess Diana in 1981 and continued throughout their marriage. It widely publicized and became a subject of intense media scrutiny during that time.

Churchill in 1963 by President John F. Kennedy for his leadership during World War II and his efforts to strengthen the relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom.

In 1865, the American Civil War comes to an end
Confederate General Robert E. Lee, commander of the Army of Northern Virginia, surrendered to Union General Ulysses S. Grant. He signed a treaty of surrender at Appomattox Court House in Virginia on April 9, 1865, effectively ending the
American Civil War.
