As the severe storm ‘Elena’ continues to cause significant disruptions across Greece with heavy rainfall, meteorologists are now warning of a new storm front approaching from Ukraine. This incoming weather system, accompanied by a polar air mass, is expected to bring rain, thunderstorms, and snow starting this weekend.
While the current weather system will gradually ease off, with a brief lull expected on Friday, a new cold wave will arrive over the weekend. This will bring snowfall to the eastern parts of the country, with dense snow predicted across the mountains of Attica. There is a high likelihood that the snow will also reach lower altitudes in the northern areas of the region.
