Warm temperatures and muddy rain are expected in several regions of Greece on Thursday, with temperatures climbing up to unseasonable highs of 24°C in Attica and 28°C in Crete.
The African dust is fortunately expected to subside by the afternoon, but don’t hold your breath for the perfect beach day, because bad weather is on its way. Rainy weather will dominate the coming days in several parts of the country.
Today, Thursday, unstable weather is expected mainly in the Ionian Sea, the western and northern Aegean, with intermittent muddy rain and temperatures reaching 24°C. In Crete, the heat will be more intense, with highs of up to 28°C.
In Attica, cloudy skies with light muddy rain expected around midday, mostly in the western and northern areas. Temperatures will range from 14–24°C. In Thessaloniki, thunderstorms are expected in the evening, with highs up to 21°C.

Heavy local rain and thunderstorms are expected in the Ionian, Epirus, and western Central Greece until midday, in Thessaly in the afternoon, and in Central Macedonia later in the day.
Across the country, skies will be mostly cloudy with local rain. Thunderstorms are expected in most parts of the mainland, especially in the west and north, where they may be intense.
African dust transport will continue in the east and south. Visibility may be locally limited, with the possibility of fog in the early morning and evening in inland areas.
Winds: Initially southeast at 3–5 Beaufort, locally 6–7 Beaufort at sea. Later in the Ionian and inland areas, winds will shift to westerly at 3–5 Beaufort, up to 6 Beaufort in the south.
Temperature: Slight drop, especially in the west. Highs will reach 20–22°C in most areas and up to 26°C in northern Crete.
Weather Outlook for Friday
Tomorrow, Friday, rain will return to the Ionian, the mainland, and the eastern and northern Aegean. This pattern will continue through Saturday and Sunday, with heavy rain expected in eastern and southern Greece, and temperatures dropping. Forecasters anticipate that Greece will transition to autumn-like conditions into the first days of April.
