The Single-Member Court of Athens ruled the work stoppage declared by six labor unions in the metro, electric railway, and tram services as illegal.

As a result, the Metro and Tram lines will operate normally for tonight.

STASY, the Athens urban rail transport issued a statement informing commuters that the Metro and the Tram would operate as normal today. “We inform you that Lines 1, 2, and 3 of the Metro and the Tram will operate normally today, Tuesday, December 12, 2023, until the end of the circulation, as the Single-Member Court deemed the work stoppage announced for tonight by 6 unions of STA.SY workers illegal.”

The employees had declared a work stoppage from 22:00 until the end of the shift. In their joint statement, they cited:
• Non-execution of articles in the collective labor agreement.
• Non-issuance of Ministerial Decisions (KΥΑ) required by Law 5039/23.
• Indifference encountered at the Ministry of Transport during protests for the above.
On Tuesday, December 12, 2023, transport workers will carry out a 3-hour warning work stoppage from 22:00 until the end of the shift.
