Yet another tragedy occurred on Greece’s streets, this time on the highway outside of Thessaloniki, when a man was hit and killed by a truck passing by him while he changed his tire.
The accident occurred at 2:30am in the morning on Egnatia motorway when the 59-year-old male from Romania had to stop his vehicle on the side of the road between what is known as the Prophet’s and the Vagiochori junctions.
According to reports the truck driver did not see the man and accidently ran over him, causing fatal injuries.
The truck driver, who was 56 years old, has been arrested and the local traffic police are investigating the incident.
