A landslide on the small islet of Therasia (Thirasía), part of the well-known volcanic Santorini isles in the southern Aegean, was captured on video on Saturday afternoon. The landslide ended up in the sea next to the small harbor of Korfos, part of iconic cauldron-like Caldera, itself created from a massive volcano eruption in roughly 1600 BC, which destroyed a large portion of the once greater island.
No injuries were reported, only material damages to shops in the area, according to the site cyclades24.gr
Therasia lies to the west of well-known Santorini (Thera), roughly a mile from the hamlet of Ammoudi, below the upscale cliff-hanging settlement of Oia.
