Istanbul: Terrorist Attack at Courthouse – Two Assailants Killed

This is the second terror-related attack in 2024 in the Bosporus metropolis after two masked perpetrators shot at congregants in an Italian-language Catholic Church in Istanbul during a Sunday mass last month

An armed attack occurred on  Tuesday morning outside Istanbul’s main courthouse, with six people injured, two civilians and three police officers.

The two assailants were reportedly killed in the clash, according to Turkish Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya, who also claimed it was a terrorist attack by members of the Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C) – a left-wing militant organization involved in terrorist incidents in the country since the 1980s.

The attackers were a woman and a man who opened fire in front of the Kagklagian Courthouse, he said on social media, without providing further details.
