On Wednesday, the weather across Greece will improve, but the cold will linger, especially during the morning and evening hours, with frost expected in areas where temperatures will dip below freezing.

Rain and scattered thunderstorms are forecast for the southern Ionian, western Sterea and Peloponnese, western Crete, Evia, and the eastern Aegean islands, stretching from Lemnos to the Dodecanese.

Elsewhere, periods of increased cloud cover will dominate, with light and intermittent snow showers expected in central and southern areas, particularly from Thessaly southwards. Northern regions, including Macedonia and Thrace, may also see occasional snow in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas.

Despite a slight rise in temperatures, the chill will persist throughout the day. Midday highs will reach 8°C in central and northern Greece, 12–14°C in other mainland areas, and up to 17°C in the southern Aegean.

Winds in the Ionian will blow from the east and south at 4–6 Beaufort, increasing to 7 Beaufort in southern parts by evening. In the Aegean, northern winds of 5–7 Beaufort are expected, gradually weakening by midday.

In Athens, expect cloudy skies, occasionally dense. Temperatures will range between 6°C and 12°C. Northerly winds will reach 6 Beaufort in the morning and 7 Beaufort in eastern areas but will ease later in the day.

Thessaloniki will see similar weather, with increased clouds over the city and occasional light snow in surrounding mountainous areas. Temperatures will vary from 1°C to 6°C, with northerly winds in the Thermaic Gulf at 3–5 Beaufort.
