A gradual improvement in weather conditions is expected across Greece on Wednesday, with rain diminishing throughout the country. Extended periods of sunshine will brighten the day, especially in northern and eastern mainland areas.
Light and scattered rain showers may occur in the Ionian and western mainland, but these will be weak and sporadic. In the Aegean islands, the day will begin with rain, particularly in the northeastern Aegean from Lemnos to Samos, where brief thunderstorms might develop. However, these will weaken by midday, giving way to isolated showers. The southern islands, including the Cyclades and as far as Kastellorizo, may also experience light, scattered showers.
Temperatures will see a slight drop in the north, ranging from 12°C to 15°C during the day. Elsewhere on the mainland, temperatures will reach 16°C to 19°C, while Crete and the Dodecanese may experience highs of 20°C to 21°C.
Winds in the Ionian will blow from the west at 3–5 Beaufort, while in the Aegean, winds will shift from southwest to northwest at 3–5 Beaufort, briefly reaching 6 Beaufort in the morning before subsiding.
In Athens, the weather will be mostly sunny with occasional, insignificant clouds. Temperatures will range between 12°C and 19°C, with winds from the west-northwest at 2–4 Beaufort.
In Thessaloniki, similar conditions will prevail, with abundant sunshine and occasional light cloud cover. Temperatures will range from 8°C to 14°C, and winds in the Thermaic Gulf will blow from the north at 2–4 Beaufort.
