Houthi Attack on Greek Ship in Red Sea – No Damage Reported

Initial reports state that there were no injuries nor damage sustained by the Greek-owned Malta-flagged MV Cyclades

According to a post on X, a Greek-owned but Malta-flagged vessel identified as the MV Cyclades came under fire from Houthi rebels in the Red Sea on Monday. Fortunately, no injuries nor damage was been reported.

Iran-aligned Houthi rebels fired three anti-ship ballistic missiles (ASBM) at the vessel but appear to have missed, according to the post by the U.S. Central Command, and as a result the MV Cyclades continued on its journey as regularly scheduled.

The report is yet another instance of a Greek-owned vessel coming under fire from Houthis in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden maritime regions, and further attest to the high-risk nature of shipping operations in the area.

U.S. Central Command, or CENTCOM, is a Tampa, Florida-based military command which has been operating for more than 40 years.
