A bomb threat phone call to the Greek Parliament turned out to be a hoax after a police check.
Earlier on Saturday evening, Greek police were alerted after an anonymous caller said there was a bomb at the Greek Parliament building.
According to reports, a woman called Greek TV station Ant-1 around 18:30 and said that an explosive device had been planted in the Parliament building and would explode in 45 minutes.
A team from the Greek Police’s bomb disposal unit was immediately dispatched to the scene and after inspection, it was determined there was no bomb.
Traffic was interrupted on Vassilissis Sofias Avenue and Amalias Avenue in front of the Parliament building as a precaution.
The subway stop at Syntagma station had been suspended temporarily for precautionary reasons.
