Greek police arrested four individuals on Tuesday reportedly linked to the bombings near a gas station in Piraeus and a liquor store in Kallithea, a south district of Athens, according to public broadcaster ERT.
The suspects were charged, on a case-by-case basis, with violations of weapons and narcotics laws and prior convictions. In addition, one more person was also charged with violating the law on the possession of illegal weapons.
The explosion in Piraeus on March 8, 2024, occurred between a gas station and a plot of land at 3:25 am, causing damage to the gas station and nearby cars.
The bomb explosion in Kallithea on March 12, 2024, destroyed the liquor store while causing damage to parked cars.
The Police issued a relevant statement on the arrests:
“Two individuals were identified and taken into custody by the Extortion Department for the explosion at the gas station on March 8, 2024, in Piraeus, and another two individuals were brought in for the explosion at the liquor store on March 12, 2024, in Kallithea.”
The suspects were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office.
