The Greek Food Authority (EFET) has ordered the immediate recall and withdrawal of a batch of salmon sold in supermarkets and food stores called “smoked salmon fillet” after ascertaining the presence of the Listeria monocytogenes bacteria.
Consumers are advised to avoid the product, while further checks and measures are underway to ensure public safety.
Specifically, the Greek Food Authority (EFET) stated that “official checks under the 2024 microbiological food safety criteria monitoring program identified the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the product “Smoked Salmon Fillet through its Regional Directorate of Attica and the Athens Food Testing & Research Laboratory.
The affected product is a smoked salmon fillet sold under the brand name “GOURMET FOOD BOSPHOROUS”. It is distributed in Greece in 240g packages by the company Nikolaos G. Evren (Salaminos 50, Kallithea, Attica).
