A passenger ferry, called the Agia Theodora, was traveling between the Greek island of Corfu and the Igoumenitsa port on mainland Greece when it ran aground on Monday night outside Igoumenitsa port, causing widespread panic.

The Agia Theodora was approximately 4 nautical miles outside of port and was carrying 550 passengers and their vehicles.

Fortunately, according to reports at MEGA TV, no one was hurt.

The ferry was in shallow waters outside the port when it suffered a mechanical failure and ran aground, according to reports by To Vima.

The Greek coast guard was called to assess the situation and determined it was safe to tug the Agia Theodora to port.

The ferry arrived safely at the port after a two-hour delay.
