Greece’s Union of Air Traffic Controllers have announced that they will strike on February 28, effectively grounding all flights in the country.
The strike is part of a broader, 24-hour country wide work stoppage announced by ADEDY, the Confederation of Greek Civil Servants’ Trade Unions, on that day.
No planes will land or take off in Greece on that day, which will lead to widespread cancellations and rescheduling of domestic and international flights.
The only flights that will have permission to operate are those provided for by the legal framework, such as air ambulances.
Travellers that intended to fly on February 28 should contact their airlines as soon as possible.
