A 2022 Eurostat study reported that personal relationships in Greece were at a negative level, as the country is one of the countries in Europe least satisfied recording one of the lowest satisfaction rates.
The study asked respondents to rate their satisfaction on a scale from 0 (not at all satisfied) to 10 (completely satisfied). The EU average level of satisfaction was 7.8 in 2022, a slight decline from 7.9 in 2018.
According to the study, Malta, Austria, and Slovenia reported the highest level of satisfaction with personal relationships among EU members, all at 8.6.
Contrastingly, Greece recorded a much lower satisfaction rate of 7.3, surpassing only Bulgaria (6.0) and Croatia (7.2).

The report showed that women were, on average, slightly more satisfied with personal relationships (7.9) than men (7.8).
Moreover, young people (16-24 years) showed the highest satisfaction with personal relationships, at 8.1. The 25-34 age cohort followed with a satisfaction rate of 8.0, while the lowest satisfaction rate was observed among those aged 50-64 years (7.7).
Interestingly, regarding personal relationships in Greece, households with dependent children reported the highest levels of satisfaction, at 7.7. Households with no children followed closely at an average rate of 7.6, while one-adult households were the least satisfied with a rate of 7.4.
