The forest fire in the area of Sofiko in Corinth, which is outside of Athens, is burning out of control and has injured three fire fighters.
According to reports, the fire is moving in the direction of the famous historical site of Epidavros.
Currently 120 firefighters, five ground units, 32 vehicles, 13 aircraft and 6 helicopters are battling the blaze.
Military vehicles are also on the ground assisting and residents of Sofiko have been asked to be on alert in the event of an evacuation, although it does not appear that the settlement is in danger.
The fire currently has a front of 4-5 kilometers and the flames are around 20-25 meters in height. Fire fighters are constantly forming anti-fire zones in an attempt to contain it.
The fire broke out Wednesday afternoon in the area of Sofiko, next to the national highway.
