Another tragic case of femicide unfolded on Sunday morning in the village of Angelochori in Thessaloniki, where a 46-year-old man killed his 60-year-old wife during a heated argument and injured their 29-year-old son when the young man attempted to intervene.
The incident occurred at the couple’s home, where an argument between the husband and wife escalated. Their 29-year-old son intervened in an attempt to defuse the situation, but the father turned violent.
The 46-year-old fatally stabbed his wife and injured their son with the same weapon. Fortunately, the latter’s life is not in danger, and he is currently receiving treatment at the a hospital in Thessaloniki.
There is no prior history of domestic violence involving the perpetrator, according to reports. The police apprehended the man and filed charges against him for intentional homicide and attempted murder and is expected to appear before a prosecutor.
