One person lost their life, and another was injured in the early hours of Monday in a traffic accident in the vicinity of Marathon.
With fatalities on Greek roads at record high due to accidents, yet another deadly incident took place as reported early this morning on the intersection of Souliou Avenue and Emanouil Benaki Street in Marathon.
According to reports, a collision transpired between a truck and a passenger car, the details of which remain unspecified. The aftermath of the crash resulted in the tragic loss of the car’s driver, who had to be extricated from the wreckage by the Fire Department. Regrettably, the driver succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Additionally, a passenger in the car sustained minor injuries in the collision. The Fire Department promptly deployed five firefighters and two vehicles to the scene to facilitate the extraction process, as reported by ERT.
