A 33-year-old para-glider instructor sustained a fatal fall this past week near the village of Mandra, outside the northeast border city of Xanthi.
The incident took on even more tragic dimensions when it was later revealed that the victim had previously lost two of his siblings in separate traffic accidents.
According to local media reports this past week from the region, the man, a native of the eastern Aegean island of Lesvos, and the father of a two-year-old child, was in the Xanthi area to pick up his wife and return to the island.
Authorities are still investigating the causes surrounding the fatal para-gliding accident.
