The producers of an erotic film in Greece had to abruptly interrupt their scheduled shooting when one of their cast members fell prey to a rather aggressive sea reptile.

The incredibly amusing, and rather embarrassing affair, occurred at the seaside town of Anavyssos, a former municipality in East Attica, located in the Athens Riviera, when a caretta-caretta turtle (also known as the loggerhead turtle) decided to take a bite out of the male protagonist’s derrière.

The crew on set spotted a trapped turtle on the beach where the filming was taking place and decided to free it, with the lead actor also joining in to help.

He dove into the sea, but as he was trying to free the turtle, it attacked him by biting him in the buttocks.

The unfortunate man immediately jumped out of the water, while the rest of the crew continued their rescue operations, eventually managing to free the sea creature.

The sea turtle had become trapped between boats and the ropes that tie them to the dock, and it was quite large.

This species is a symbol of the Mediterranean and the Greek seas. Greece hosts approximately 60% of the nests in the Mediterranean and two of the species’ most important breeding sites: the National Marine Park of Zakynthos, with its six nesting beaches in Laganas Bay in Zakynthos, and the southern part of the Kyparissia Gulf in the western Peloponnese.

The erotic film industry in Greece saw somewhat of a revival – although the genre never really took off – over the last decade, especially after the 2010 financial crisis when a major investor started exploring the possibilities of re-introducing the niche in a more professional style.

It is unclear whether the injury to the star affected his performance…
