The Hellenic Food Authority (EFET) has proceeded with the recall of two products, as they were deemed unfit for consumption by consumers.

The first product concerns a vegan chocolate bar, with the Hellenic Food Authority (EFET) and the Regional Directorate of Western Greece, confirming the presence of larvae – worms in the product “VEGAN CHOCOLATE WITH HAZELNUTS, VEMONDO” during the investigation of a consumer complaint.

Specifically, the affected product is sold in a 180g packaging, with batch number L 34161a and a best-before consumption date of 15/04/2025. The product is distributed by the supermarkets of Lidl Hellas group.

The food authority demanded the immediate recall of this specific batch, and relevant inspections are already underway. Lidl Hellas has issued a consumer notice on its website.

Additionally, EFET’s Regional Directorate of Peloponnese proceeded with the recall of another unsafe food product after inspections conducted as part of the “Official Monitoring Program for Microbiological Safety Criteria for Food 2024.”

The product in question is “FROZEN CHICKEN BURGER,” with a production date of 22/11/2024 and an expiration date of 22/11/2025, produced by the company “Nafpaktos Poultry – Kontoxristos.”

As reported, the presence of the pathogenic microorganism Salmonella spp. was confirmed after testing was carried out on the product, with the authority demanding the immediate withdrawal of all affected batches of this product.

EFET advises consumers who have already purchased these items to refrain from consuming them as they are considered harmful for public health safety. Inspections are ongoing.
