A strong earthquake struck the southwest of the Peloponnese on Monday morning, estimated to have been 4.5 on the Richter scale.
According to the Earthquake application, which uses data from the University of Athens, the earthquake struck at 11:47 on January 6.
The earthquake’s epicenter was at Zacharo, Greece, which is 36.6 km south southeast of Pyrgos. Its depth was 1.2 miles or approximately 2 kilometers.

Meanwhile, according to the Geodynamic Institute, the quake was 4.5 on the Richter scale and the epicenter was pinpointed 3 kilometers west-northwest of Giannitsochori, at a depth of 5 kilometers.

Information is still coming in as Earthquake reveals that there have been continual smaller aftershocks in the region, ranging from 3.1 to 2.1.
