The Municipality of Alimos, a south suburb or Athens, along with the Alimos stray animal rescue organization have organized a dog adoption festival in the area on Sunday, September 22.
The event will take place along the Alimos seaside pedestrian walkway from 11 am to 2 pm.
Passersby will be able to meet and interact with pups of all ages and sizes looking for their forever homes.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to watch a seminar on offering First Aid to both stray dogs and pets.

Stray animals are a significant issue in Greece, with more than 3 million cats and dogs wondering the streets in 2023. Pet abandonment, mass births, and lack of proper legal framework and assistance regarding the issue are key points that exasperate the problem.
