A tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of Thursday in Zografou, a residential district in eastern Athens, where a couple was found dead in the middle of the street after jumping from the balcony of their third-floor apartment.
The bodies were discovered directly beneath the apartment building where they resided. The police were alerted by a passerby who spotted the lifeless bodies on the pavement around 2:20 AM.
Investigation and Initial Findings
Authorities believe that the couple, both approximately 40 years old, jumped voluntarily. A forensic examination confirmed injuries consistent with a fall from a great height.
The man’s father reportedly informed the police that the couple had been struggling with psychological issues. However, investigators have not ruled out any possibilities and are examining all circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
