Greece’s national weather observatory (EMY) says that Thursday, October 31 will bring generally cooler temperatures in the country, along with rain in several areas and strong winds across the Aegean.

Most of the country will have sunny conditions with some clouds. That being said there is a chance of local showers in Thessaly, Sporades, Evia, southern Peloponnese, and the mountainous and northern parts of Crete.

Visibility will be limited in central and northern mainland Greece in the evening and early morning hours.

Temperatures will range from 8 to 22°C in northern Greece (4 to 17°C in western Macedonia), 10 to 21°C in central and southern Greece, 11 to 25°C in western Greece (9 to 21°C in Epirus), 14 to 20°C in the Cyclades and Crete, 13 to 22°C in the eastern Aegean islands, and 14 to 25°C in the Dodecanese.

Winds in the Aegean will blow from the north at moderate to strong speeds, 5-6 Beaufort. However, there will be nearly gale-force winds in the central Aegean and Libyan Sea at 7 Beaufort, while winds in the Ionian will generally be light from the east and locally moderate in the central Ionian at 4 Beaufort.

The Attica region will have mostly clear skies with some morning clouds, accompanied by northerly winds blowing at 4-6 Beaufort, occasionally reaching up to 7 Beaufort in the east, with temperatures ranging from 13 to 23°C.

In Thessaloniki, the weather will be partly cloudy, with occasional local showers in the morning, gradually clearing throughout the day. Winds will be variable at 2-3 Beaufort, occasionally northerly at 4 Beaufort, and temperatures will range from 10 to 22°C.

Macedonia and Thrace will see generally clear skies in Thrace, with some temporary clouds, while Macedonia will have partly cloudy weather and light morning showers in Central Macedonia, clearing as the day progresses. Winds will vary at 2-3 Beaufort, with easterly winds reaching 4-5 Beaufort in the eastern areas, and temperatures will be between 7 and 23°C, though 3-4°C cooler in Western Macedonia.

The Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Sterea, and Western Peloponnese will experience passing clouds with local showers and possible isolated storms over the sea in the western Peloponnese and southern Ionian until the afternoon, followed by gradual clearing. Winds will blow from the east at 3-5 Beaufort, with similar intensity northerly winds in the Ionian, and temperatures will range from 9 to 25°C, though 3-4°C lower in inland Epirus.

Eastern Sterea, Evia, and Eastern Peloponnese will have partly cloudy skies with temporary increases and local showers until the afternoon, particularly in the northern parts of Eastern Sterea and Euboea, before gradually clearing. Northerly winds will prevail at 4-6 Beaufort, reaching 7 Beaufort in the east, with temperatures ranging from 12 to 24°C.

In the Cyclades and Crete, the Cyclades will remain mostly clear with some morning clouds, while Crete will experience passing clouds and isolated local showers. Northerly winds will blow at 5-7 Beaufort, briefly reaching up to 8 Beaufort locally. Temperatures will range from 15 to 23°C, reaching up to 25°C in southern Crete.

The Eastern Aegean Islands and Dodecanese will have generally clear weather with occasional clouds in the Dodecanese and a slight chance of light rain in the southern areas. Winds will blow from the north at 4-6 Beaufort, locally reaching up to 7 Beaufort, and temperatures will range from 15 to 25°C, with northern areas slightly cooler by 3-4°C.

Finally, Thessaly will experience partly cloudy skies with local showers until midday, followed by generally clear weather. Winds will vary at 2-3 Beaufort, with northeasterly winds reaching 4-5 Beaufort in the eastern parts, and temperatures will range from 9 to 23°C.
