A shocking video that surfaced online on Tuesday shows the fatal stabbing of a 28-year-old man by two individuals in the central Athens district of Kypseli.
Police were notified of the attack and found the victim on a street lying in a pool of blood. The man, an Albanian national, was transferred to a nearby hospital with serious knife injuries to his neck, where he died.
Two individuals, a 19-year-old and a 17-year-old, identified as brothers, but also as relatives of the victim, subsequently appeared at a local police precinct to surrender. Authorities later said the pair confessed to the crime, with the 17-year-old saying he was the one wielding the knife and the older teen taking on the role of accomplice. The perpetrators told the police that the victim had been abusing them.
The footage shows the three men involved in an altercation, with the two attackers cornering the victim and eventually punching and kicking him. The latter appears to be trying to escape but gets stabbed multiple times.
The two suspects claimed the victim had been sexually abusing them when all three were living in Albania. They also asserted that while they tried to put their alleged ordeal in the past, when the victim arrived in Greece, they attacked him.
